"
Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness;  tremble before Him, all the earth"  (Psalm 96:9)

God is Holy.  His character is perfect in every way.  His moral excellence is the absolute standard of integrity and ethical purity.  God's supreme holiness infinitely sets Him apart from His creation.  And the God who is holy calls us to "Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness;" (Psalm 96:9a).  And Him who is holy calls those who are His to reflect the beauty of His holiness.

You and I can be holy by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.  And as the holiness of God works into the fabric of our being, we will become sensitive to sin and learn to abhor it as God does.  And as our lives are transformed, we will project the light of His holiness into the darkness of this evil world.  Then we will be holy as He is holy.

"(Lord,) teach me to do your will"  (Psalm 143:10)

God 's will is for everyone to obey His Word.  This was His will from the beginning.  His perfect will was known to Adam and Eve in everything, and gave one "don't."  All through Scripture He tells us what to do and what not to do.  He tells us how to live.  He gives us the strength to endure hardships, and He brings joy when we walk in His ways.  It is wonderful to desire and know God's will.  Once you know it, do it!

King David prayed, "(Lord,) teach me to do your will" (Psalm 143:10).  Many pray, "Lord, show me Your will," and then never open up the Bible.  When our hearts are right before Him, He promises to teach us. In teaching us, He gives us understanding.  His power is put within us through His Holy Spirit.  This is a wonderful truth.  God's will is revealed in Scripture and it pleases Him when we desire and do what He instructs.  Will you pray, "Lord, teach me to do Your will."

"If I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you."  (Luke 11:20)

The first time the phrase "finger of God" appears in Scripture is during the plagues of Egypt, specifically during the plague of gnats.  Pharaoh's magicians were frustrated in the attempts to produce gnats by their magical acts and they told Pharoah:  "This is the finger of God" (Exod 8:19).  Yet Pharaoh did not believe them and continued in defiance of Yahweh, even when the "finger of God," or the power of God was manifest.

The pagan magicians in Egypt reognize the power of God, but like Pharaoh, the religious crowd in Jesus' day refused to recognize the power of God at work in their midst.

It only takes the "finger of God" to transform a life or transform a heart.  Will you invite the finger of God to work in your life - in your heart?

"Let not your heart be troubled;  you believe in God, believe also in Me.  2 In My Father's house are many dwelling places.  (John 14:1-2a)

Life can be brutal, but there's one place we go to for comfort, belonging and welcome.  We call that place home.  And a big part of going home is getting to be with those that we love - and just being together.

When Jesus Christ's work on earth was nearing completion, He told his followers, "I'm going home to my Father now!  But, "Don't let your hearts be troubled," (John 14:1).  Jesus promised there was more than enough room in the Father's home for whosoever would believe and receive His salvation.

Here on earth, before we welcome people home we make a lot of preparations.  So, Jesus told his followers to be together with Him and God the Father forever.

THIS homecoming or home-going is available only through Jesus.  He declared, "I an the way, the truth and the life.  No one can come to the Father except through me" (John14:6)
.

This is what we know:  Jesus promises to live with us forever in a place He's preparing in heaven, He promises to come back to get His followers and He is the only way to get to this prepared place in Heaven-our true home.
