1. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and
for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life
in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight
of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto
the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1–4
This passage deals specifically with evangelistic praying.
The context of these verses deals with salvation and people coming to know
Jesus. This focuses on praying for those who don’t know Jesus and praying
for an environment where it is easier to share the gospel and a culture that
allows believers to share their faith freely.
This is a call to pray that the church, and particularly the Peniel Church,
be what we need to be so that we can become more effective in reaching the
unreached and unbelievers with the Good News of Jesus the Christ.
Will you accept the challenge and respond to Paul’s
exhortation for the expansion of the Kingdom of God?

Jesus said, “And I, if I be lifted
up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me” (John
12:32)
In context, Jesus proclaimed that the
time to fulfill His mission by dying had arrived. But
like a seed, His death would result in new life and
produce fruit. We note in this passage that the word,
“if” does not refer to a mere possibility. Some
translations translate this passage as “When I am lifted
up from the earth,” which seems to more accurately
conveying the certainty of this condition (Christ’s
crucifixion) coming to pass.
And when He is lifted up, He WILL draw ALL into Himself.
The pull of the cross is not restricted to just some
people. Christ’s pull is not limited to just the elect.
Jesus said He would draw ALL people to Himself. Some
respond by receiving Christ as Savior, while others
respond by resisting the draw of the Cross.
Are you receiving or resisting the
draw of the Cross of Christ in your life?

“Jesus said unto him, 'I am the way,
and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but
through Me.'" John 14:6
WOW! What a statement! However, there is more
truth packed into these few short words than is found in the
combined libraries of humanity. If, in faith, hope, and
love, we could but grasp, believe, and act on the deep
significance of Christ's simple, yet profound statement, our
troubled hearts would be stilled, and our joy would be full.
Jesus did not simply say He would show us the way, but that
He IS The Way. He is the one and only way for fallen man to
get to the Father. Jesus did not say He would tell us some
truths, but that He IS incarnate Truth. He is the
personification of truth. And Jesus is life. He is THE Life,
Who breathes His own resurrected life into a fallen man, by
faith.
Every human is born spiritually dead in
trespasses and sins and is incapable of saving themselves or
of communicating with a holy God. But Christ is the Source
of all spiritual life and in Him is eternal life for all who
trust in His redemptive work. It is through faith in Him
that we are made a new creation in Christ. Jesus is the way,
the truth, and the life.

And Jesus took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it,
and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is
given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20 Likewise
also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new
testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Luke
22:19–20
In Paul’s first
letter to the Corinthians, he reminded them of the
origin of their shared meal, while also providing some
needed correction. The Lord’s Supper’s purpose is to
remember Jesus. It is not a time for lavish display or
ostentation. It is not a time to display wealth or
position. Instead this meal is a time to reflect on what
Jesus has done in giving His life for others. It is a
time, Paul later explains, for self-examination (10:28).
The Corinthians are to discern the body (10:29) — both
Christ’s corporeal body and the corporate body of
believers — so they can overcome division and remember
the body of Christ to which they belong.
